Baby Shower!

I had one of my baby showers this last Sunday and it went so well. It was actually a double shower for Adelle and I. Adelle is my sister-in-law who is due two weeks before me! I was so blessed to have so many relatives and friends come from even out of town! Rebekah and Karlie came from Oregon to stay the weekend and we had SO MUCH FUN! I have missed them so much since I moved here. We had a great girls weekend...being goofy, pampering each other, and just doing what girls do best...laughing a lot! Adelle and I both recieved the wonderful gifts and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful and friends and families in my life! Better yet, I am so overwhelmed and thankful that Jaxon has so many people in his life already who love him so much! I am posting some of the pics so you get to see how big my belly is getting these days...it's seriously crazy how much your body changes in only 9 short months! I can't believe I have only 6 weeks left!

Visitors

This weekend we have had Rob's dad and his wife up from Hermiston, Oregon. We hadn't seen them in nearly a year, so we were glad for an opportunity to visit. They aren't big city people at all, so Seattle is a bit intimidating...especially the driving. =) We have mostly been relaxing and watching the Olympics, but today we took them down to the Mukilteo waterfront. My husband is going to be doing recording for a full length album at a studio in Mukilteo, and the waterfront was right by there, so we hit both places to give them a tour. I didn't realize that today was actually the opening of the new waterfront remodeling...and it looks really beautiful! So if you have the opportunity, you should go hang out there. It was gorgeous and they have a whole playground there too now. I was imagining taking Jaxon there when he is a bit older. I bet he will love it. There were a ton of wind surfers there...and I am totally all up on wanting to try it after the baby is born (and I get back into shape...lol!). This evening we went to The Rock...which is a really cool pizza place (you should try it!). Anyway, I put up a few pics of the day...enjoy!

Baby Bedding and Baby Deals!

So, I thought I would show you all the bedding I got for baby Jaxon. I got it about a week ago. I have had the hardest time deciding on the bedding set, but I think this one will turn out really cute in the end. I have been totally into searching for deals on baby stuff lately, and I have to admit...it is addictive! A few weeks ago my friend Lauren and I went to garage sales just for fun. Well, God sure planned it...cause I was amazed at what I found! We went to this one sale and wasn't finding much so we were about to take off, when a lady came running up to me and asked, "What are you having?" When I told her a boy, her face lit up and she demanded I follow her. We went into the house and the living room was full, and I mean FULL of tons of baby boy clothes and accessories. The majority of clothes had hardly been touched...most of them still had tags on. These were brand name clothes: Janie & Jack, Baby Gap, Nordstroms, Gymboree all for a quarter each! They also had brand new baby monitors, play gym, mobile for the crib, etc. I left there with over $200 worth of stuff for less than$30! The other day, we found a white crib in perfect condition on Craigslist for $20! Our dresser is white so it worked out perfectly. I am surprised at how much fun it is to find deals on stuff and try to find the best price! I will post pics of the nursery when we are done, but as of now...there is still a lot of work to be done. So much to do in such little time! Let me know what you think of the bedding set! Hugs to you all!

End of July OverKast Shows

OverKast (my husband's band) had two shows this last Sunday. Rob and I both had been really sick all week with a cold/flu but were able to pull ourselves through to go. OverKast is a three piece right now, so Rob was a little nervous about playing all the guitar parts alone while singing...especially he had been so sick. Thankfully they all did REALLY well! The first show was at a church for a car show. The Bass player's family was there as well as the drummer's girlfriend (and my good friend) Sarah. They pulled out some really cool new songs, so we were all really excited to hear them!
The second show was really exciting though. They played in a park in Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle. It was put on by a homeless shelter, Bread of Life Mission, which OverKast has been supporting and playing for this last year. James (pic of him with OverKast shirt above), who goes to Mars Hill Church (our home church) too, is the founder of Bread of Life and did an amazing job putting it on. Anyway, they had a few other bands play and also had speakers sharing their testimonies while they also served food for the homeless. The whole park was full of people. Many of them were homeless and others were just in the area and stopped by. It was so cool to see people so hungry for the truth and enjoying the music. The guys got to spend time talking with the people afterwards and passed out shirts and stickers. It was awesome! If you think of it, keep praying for the Bread of Life Mission! They are going to be putting out more of these outreach events in the future and would really appreciate the support. Here are some of the pics from that day.

Fourth of July Fun!

For the Fourth of July, Rob and I got to go with my sister's family on the boat in Seattle! We went right out by GasWorks Park and watched the firework show with many other boaters. It was a beautiful night and the fireworks were so close! Rob has only been used to little firework shows, so I think they really impressed him! I hadn't been out on the boat in two years, so I was very excited. The kiddos were so cute and had a blast. They filled themselves with sugar and were crazy as can be! Even Jaxon was quite busy kicking away during the entire show! It was a great evening!

Here we go!

Well, I have finally decided to start a blog! This blog is mainly for the purpose of updating everyone on the fabulous life of the Harris family! We are expecting our first baby in 2 months, Jaxon David Harris, and we can't wait to meet him! Stay tuned and can't wait to hear about what's going on in your lives!
