Going to the Chapel and We're Gonna Get Married...

Well, not me, but I get the opportunity to photograph my first wedding! Hooray! Hoozah! And all that other stuff. We are headed over to Eastern Oregon for the weekend, and I would certainly covet your prayers. =) Photographing weddings are much different than portraits, much more time involved and stress...but I'm totally up for it!

Oh, and on a different note, I was completely thrilled to find out today that "a pediatrician" from the same clinic Jax went to last week has the swine flu. Can you sense my enthusiasm? No, he isn't sick nor is he exhibiting any symptoms (trust me, I'm watching). I called and they wouldn't give me the name of the pediatrician (there are only 2 possibilities and his ped is on of them), but they DID say they reached all the possible patients that would have been infected. Being that he has no symptoms, it's been almost 2 weeks, and the fact that I was never "reached", I am choosing not to worry about it too much. God is in control either way!

Off to pack now, thanks for the prayers!

The Best of Friends

Raider is our very affectionate cat. He is also our very DEMANDING cat, (demanding attention constantly to be exact). He never can get enough. Jaxon is crazy fascinated with the cats lately. He gets excited whenever they are in close proximity and even gets mad if they walk away from him. Raider loves attention, and Jaxon loves to give it to him, so it works out perfectly! All we have to say is "kitty" and Jaxon starts looking for Raider. They really are the best of friends.

Baby Puree Anyone?

I'm contemplating making my own baby food for our little guy. My friend was telling me all about it and gave me this book to read on it:
Now I'm very interested in the whole concept, mainly because it tastes better, is healthier for him, and will save us money. What's the downside you might ask? I have to consider how much time this will take...you know, the whole time-balance thing I'm trying very hard to master?

The recipes of the puree's in this book my friend gave me seems to be a bit more complicated and "fancy" than I might be able to do. However, here is a book that looks a bit more my style:
And I just heard of this website: www.wholesomebabyfood.com which seems to be a WEALTH of information! Oh my, I have a lot to read up on, but I think I'm up for the challenge! Apparantly I will need a food processer and a steamer?

If any of you have advice or experience with this, PLEASE feel fee to comment. =)

13!

My neice Maddy is 13 today! Maddy is the best neice ever! I can honestly say, when she was born, I was the proudest Auntie that ever existed. I was 14 at the time and totally in love. From the start, we had a very special relationship. Growing up, Maddy has always been my little buddy. I love Maddy's kind heart and sweet spirit. She is an AMAZING artist and is wonderful with animals. She is fun to hang out with, and is so good to our little Jaxon. What a wonderful 13 years it has been and I can't wait to see what God is going to do with this precious life!

Happy Birthday Maddy!
I'll always love you!

Fauxhawk & Funny Faces

We did it! We have enough hair now to sport a fauxhawk!
He's such a blondie, so it may be hard to see, but if you look closely...

He's also into making all sorts of fascinating facial expressions these days...

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

Yesterday Jaxon and I went to go see cousin Alden play his baseball game. Little Alden is now 10 years old today! I can't believe it! It seems like he was just Jaxon's age! Alden is still as sweet as they come. Such a kind, loving, active, & FUNNY kiddo. No seriously, he has one of the best sense of humors I have ever seen for a 10 year old! I love this kid with a passion.

Here are some pics from his game:

(Oh and pretend not to notice the fence getting in

the way between my camera and the subject. Lol!)

An AMAZING pitcher!

If you look closely, you can see the ball. =)

He had incredible hits as well!

The other highlight for Jaxon was spending time with his cousin Maddy:

He did NOT like when everyone cheered...especially Auntie Amy's "screams of joy". Maddy was a great comfort....

...and of course got the giggles out of him.

Jaxon also greatly enjoyed the attention of the other lady in his life...Aunti Mimi, (who, by the way, made the yummiest cookies for Adlen's birthday) Can't you tell?:

And the best part of all, is THEY WON!

Happy Birthday Sweet Alden Boy!

We Love YOU!

Baby Legs

So why, you may ask, would I do an entire post on Baby Legs? Well there are several reasons...
Reason #1: To tell you this story: Yesterday I was cleaning an amazing 500 sq. ft. home overlooking Alki Beach. It is very interesting cleaning all these houses because you get a small glimpse into all the different lifestyles. People are fascinating, and how some of them live is even more fascinating...let me tell you. Anyway, I come to find out that I am cleaning the home of the designer of "Baby Legs"! Don't know what these are? Check it out: http://www.babylegs.com/ . Pretty cool huh? Now, having a 6 mos. old, I am very aware of what "Baby Legs" are. My nephew has them, and many of my friends little kiddos has them as well. I have always loved them and wanted to get some for Jaxon, but never had a chance to get a pair. She really was a sweet lady, and she handed me two pairs of "Baby Legs" for Jaxon before I left. Needless to say I was thrilled! Now Jaxon is sportin' his own pair of "Baby Legs"!

Reason #2: I love how his little chubby legs look in them. (Not like his legs weren't cute BEFORE I put him in them...but you get the point.)

Reason #3: I love taking pics of baby legs and feet in general...so this was another great excuse.

Reason #4: To document that he loves to play with his feet. In fact he plays with them most of the day. Too bad I didn't catch him sticking his foot in his mouth on camera, cause that too is a normal occurance for him. Gotta love babies!

We're pretty sure he likes them!

Nacho Libre, the Rubber Chicken, and the Not as Eventful Acoustic Show

Tonight Jax and I went to his first OverKast show. (Well not including when he was in my tummy). It was an acoustic show at a coffee shop in Bothell.

This show was a lot less eventful than the previous show apparantly. I kid you not...the band that played with OverKast at the last show had a singer who came running on stage with a skeleton costume, a Nacho Libre mask, a cape, and just when you think things can't get crazier...a rubber chicken for a microphone! Can you imagine? Yeah, neither can I...but it happened. (Sorry, no pictures of this but, believe me, I wish I had some.)

Anyway, not to get off on tangents (cause I NEVER do that!), we went to an acoustic show two hours past Jax's bedtime. He was jumping up and down with excitement...see?

Actually, he really did amazingly well! He loved watching his daddy on stage, but I think he was even more happy to lay his head on Sherry's (Bass player's wife) shoulder. What a sweetie!

Here are a couple pics of the hubby and the band as well. I like their softer side personally. They did a wonderful job!
