Visit with Grandpa and playdates!

This week was especially exciting since Jaxon got to meet his Grandpa Bart for the first time! Bart and his wife came to visit over the weekend. We hung out, ate good food, went for a walk in the park and enjoyed eachothers company. Jaxon is always so good with meeting new people and is a trooper at being "passed around". Always ready to smile!

Legacy! The three Harris men!

Grandpa would tickle Jax's feet while in the swing! Jaxon loves tickles!

Sitting with Grandpa!

Also this week Jaxon had a playdate with cousin Owen. It is so cute because Owen and Jaxon are at the stage where they look at eachother and are beginning to interact with eachother! We can tell they are going to be the bestest friends.

Notice they were holding hands and Owen even ate Jaxon's hand at one point...Jaxon didn't seem to mind at all!

I try my best to use photography to document as much of Jaxon's life as I can. Down to his favorite toys, activities, milestones, fun events...anything I want to remember, I try to capture. Here are a couple of photos of Jaxon playing with his favorite toy...he loves this little butterfly and will talk to her all day if he could. This is also to document that he is grabbing and holding his toys now...so fun!

And just for kicks...I am posting a few more of my favorite pics of Jax's last days of being 3 months! They grow too fast! =)

Jaxon Practices Sitting

We were watching the playoff games this evening (Jaxon loves watching football with Daddy) and I caught a couple of funny shots. He is really wanting to try to sit up these days and is also VERY interested in his hands and feet. You will notice the drool pooring out of his mouth, but I decided not to edit it out because it documents EXACTLY what he is doing these days!

I just love his rolly pollies!

Weddings, Deliveries, and Bargain Shopping

This week brought two exciting events packed in one day. =) Some of our very close friends got married this week and in the same day, I got called in to do a photo shoot of a delivery! Thankfully the timing turned out to be perfect, so I was able to do both. I went to the wedding and two hours later I got the call that she was "ready" even holding off pushing until I got there. Luckily I live just minutes from the hospital. This was the second delivery (besides my own of course) that I had the opportunity to witness and it is the most beautiful, emotional, and inspiring thing to see! It blows me away at how God designed these precious little ones and in 9 months no less. I had become friends with this gal through both of our loves of photography. I had never met her in person, but was thrilled to be able to document such a wonderful time in their lives. The best part about it was that her husband got to deliver the baby! How fun!
This weekend Jaxon and I went shopping at the Outlet malls with friends. They have lots of stores for kids (Carter's, Children's Place, Gymboree, & Gap to name a few), and I am proud to say that I got 11 things for Jaxon for less than $20! One of the things I just couldn't resist was this adorable little hat. I had to take some pics of him in it...and of course I am posting them. He was such a ham. Enjoy!

New Year at the Harris Household

Happy New Year! Things have settled down from the holidays, and I finally have a chance to update our blog. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us in 2009.
Rob started his new job with Verizon a couple of weeks ago. He really is enjoying it besides the fact that 12 hour days have him exhausted by the end of the day. He won't always be working 12 hour days, but while he is training he works open to close. It's actually a blessing because we really needed the extra money although Jaxon and I really miss him.

I am learning how to balance many hats these days. In addition to being a mommy and photographer, I also started studying to be a personal trainer as well as look for a part time job. I am going through NASM for my training and have started the workout routine to get back in shape last week. I am planning on cleaning houses on the side one day a week as well as 2 afternoons until I am certified to do the personal training. The goal is that I can stay home with Jaxon as much as possible. When I start doing the PT, he can come with me to the gym and I can be with him as well as make some extra income. Until then, Rob will be able to watch Jaxon one day and my parents the other times. Because of all of this, I have become very good friends with my day planner. Making sure I schedule and balance everything is crucial. Even down to making time for dates with the hubby, family time, fellowship with others, etc...it is a little overwhelming trying to juggle it all. I hate the thought of leaving Jaxon for even an hour, but I know in the long run, this will allow me to be with him more. I keep telling myself it is only a few hours a week!

Our little man is now 3 1/2 months old and he is doing amazing! He is almost rolling over from back to front now, and is batting at and grabbing onto his toys. He loves to practice sitting up and has a smile ready for everyone! Every moment with him is a blessing and I want to just hold on to him forever. He is growing so fast!
Well, off to feed the little guy again! Hope this New Year brings blessings to you all.

Love,
Rob + Kristin +Jaxon Harris
